I ordered this product on line on a Friday from the visor shop N.Ireland it was delivered to me on Saturday in southern Ireland. Unfortunately the visor was not the exact one needed. I then had reason to be in Dublin later that week and went to Newry with helmet and visor and problem was sorted on a matter of minutes. Great service. Thanks.

Despite the fact that many of Arai’s competitors have offered photochromic visors for quite some time, nothing has been available for my favorite brand. Finally, with this Pinlock product I have what I need. It works well and could be darker but I am content with the performance.

The first pinlock insert was damaged during transit. The Visor Shop were great with response and follow-up, quickly posting off a replacement that arrived in Aust about 4 days later, couldn't ask for better service.

I am fortunate enough to live in a part of the world where it never gets that cold. As a road fifer and life long Arai wearer I’m not convinced Pinlocks are a must for road riding here.
That being said it was very easy to install and does not fog up, just like the add says.

Excellent bit of kit and functional as well. The pinlock visors prevent fogging and are a perfect accompaniment to my new Arai Helmet.

An excellent addition to my visor (Arai) fits perfectly and prevents visor fogging while moving or stationary. A very safe aid to riding.

I bought the clear ond, as I always wear sunglasses under the visor. Works perfectly.

I bought the ProtecTint MaxVision visor for late afternoon riding so I could have some sun protection but still have visibility at night as my dark smoke visor is too dark for night time use.

However, due to the MaxVision design, the visor recess magnifies any light that hits the top lip of that recess causing the top half of the visor to become blinding with any car lights or street lights that hit it.

It’s so bad that it makes it impossible to see anything ahead of you and I have to ride with my visor open. In the daytime, the ProtecTint gives a small amount of light protection from the sun but doesn’t help much with direct sunlight. It seems to work best on cloudy days where it’s still bright outside but there’s no direct sunlight hitting the visor.

The MaxVision concept seems to be good but there’s currently a huge design flaw with any light that hits it and can’t recommend this for night time use.

Excellent and much better than the older pinlocks

Excellent service by The Visor Shop, super fast shipping to the US.
The insert itself (Protec Tint)is quite disappointing. The tint is less than the Arai light tint and therefore just not enough for riding in the bright sun.

Pinlock works as far as stopping fogging but the photochromatic aspect is worthless. Riding in direct sunlight I notice almost no tinting. Just go with the regular pinlock insert.

It could stand to be a lot darker, its not nearly as dark as the advertisement shows. But, it’s OK, I’ll keep it.

The sun tinting effect is a bit little and slow.
Will not replace sunglasses.
