The M1 helmet is good to use without a visor, as an open faced option. This peak covers the redundant visor position mechanisms on each side. Probably reduces wind noise but also stops the mechanism getting encrusted with dead bugs. It fits perfectly to the helmet and is very easily installed and removed. Most would consider it overpriced and they’d be right.

This visor fits perfectly on my M1 helmet. The Visor Shop sent it off to the States in a jiffy. A++ all around.
