Constructed with a 60/40 split of the highest quality Kangaroo and Grade A Cowhide and reinforced with Kevlar® protection, the V4.1 Evo offers you the ultimate in comfort and protection. The V4.1 Evo is a more advanced suit than the previous V4.1 as the suit has been upgraded with additional external protection and ergonomic enhancements. Taking the original RST Race Department V4 suit as a base model and making small refinements, RST have strengthened the suit whilst retaining the great fit and feel of the suit and managed to reduce the price too, making the suit more accessible to a wider variety of riders. This version of the RST V4.1 Suit features In&Motion Airbag Technology, which features an airbag built right into the suit! RST and In&Motion have partnered to combine one of the most dominant names in airbag technology with the performance of a leather motorcycle race suit. In&Motion are well known in the field of airbag technology, developing airbag vests for skiing, equestrian and motorcycle purposes, usually in the form of an airbag vest, worn on the exterior of existing clothing or as a vest worn underneath. However, with the V4.1 Airbag Suit, the airbag technology is fitted directly into the suit, inflating to cover the back and chest, maximising your safety should the worst occur. The benefit to fixing the airbag directly into the suit ensures that the protection is in the right place at the right time, as well as RST’s development and quality assurance ensuring that the garments which the airbags are fitted to can withstand the additional strain and pressure of an airbag within, something some motorcycle garments would fail at. Fitting the In&Box into your RST airbag suit is easy, with a dedicated cut-out within the supplied CE approved back protector; simply plug in and put on and you’re ready for the racetrack. The airbag suit can withstand multiple detonations of the airbag vest, however in your best interests, RST recommend that the suit be returned after three detonations so that the suit can be checked by RST. This inspection service is carried out free of charge by RST as part of their commitment to keeping you safe. Each detonation uses a pressurised canister to expand the airbag and keep you safe, which will need to be replaced after the detonation and are available to purchase separately. Once the airbag has been deployed, the garment will remain fully inflated for ten seconds before slightly deflating to 80% capacity, ensuring you remain protected when laid on the ground but subsiding enough for you to take the garment off. In order to fully deflate the airbag suit, simply release the canister from the jacket; this will activate a release valve within the airbag mechanism, slowly deflating the garment. The Kangaroo construction of these motorcycle leathers is designed to give the same strength as a traditional leather construction but with the additional benefit of being very lightweight. This lightweight suit reduces rider fatigue when out on the track while still providing the high abrasion resistance from the suit that is required when racing. New for the V4.1 airbag incarnation of this track day leather suit, RST have used premium Brazilian cowhide at the stretch panelling of the suit; more cost effective, but no less protective, these cowhide areas stretch when you’re hanging off the bike on track days, ensuring that your movement isn’t restricted when riding but retaining the shape when off the bike too. These areas are also reinforced with an aramid lining for additional abrasion resistance when sliding in the event of an off and the suit is triple stitched throughout using a bonded nylon thread, minimising the risks of a blowout at the seams of the suit, and giving you peace of mind that should you find yourself sliding at speed across the asphalt, your bare skin won’t be exposed due to seam failure. The suit comes in a laminated ceramic super fabric found on the upper arm which offers brilliant flexibility and superb strength from stretch forces and abrasion, making the suit safer without adding any additional weight. This airbag suit comes complete with a host of protection to minimise the damage done to your body in the event of an off, protecting you both from a high sides and low sides alike. The external protection comes in the form of TPU shoulder cups and TPU knee cups, allowing the suit to slide across the tarmac rather than gripping the ground and causing your body to be thrown over itself in a rag-doll motion. The TPU material used on this leather race suit is just a strong as traditional carbon cups found on the shoulders and knees of traditional suits but with a lower friction coefficient, allowing for better sliding capabilities should the worst happen. Beneath the suit lies a host of CE approved armour; this leather one piece contains CE Level 2 shoulder armour, coupled with CE Level 2 elbow armour and pocket to include a CE Level 2 back protector which is available to purchase separately. Below the waistline, this RST airbag suit features CE Level 2 hip protectors and CE Level 1 knee armour. This CE approved armour found within the interior of this leather suit helps to effectively dissipate impact energy away from the muscles and bones beneath, minimising the damage done regardless of the type of ‘off’ you have. The V4.1 Evo airbag suit comes complete with RST Race Department knee sliders as well as elbow sliders for the particularly brave racer. The factory knee sliders feature reverse Velcro, ensuring that when the suit is stored with other clothing, the Velcro from the knee sliders does not cling to other fabrics and ruin them. These factory knee sliders come as a pair and in white as standard with the V4.1 Kangaroo suit. The V4.1 suit features perforations around the suit at the front and back of the suit, particularly at the chest area and upper thighs, allowing for a superb flow of air through to within the suit, keeping you cool as you ride and letting you concentrate on hitting the apex. Air also flows around the suit particularly well when in a tucked riding position, thanks to the close fitting nature of the suit as the aerodynamic race hump found at the rear of the suit which flows and channels air across your back, providing little resistance when hammering down the back straight. For the new V4.1 airbag suit, a removable comfort mesh lining is found within the suit, stopping the leather sticking to your skin when riding in warmer temperatures, allowing air to circulate freely within the suit and letting you remove and wash the lining which keeps your new RST suit fresher for longer! The race cuffs of the suit are very comfortable when closed, limiting the irritation that can be felt with substandard materials at this area. The same material is also found at the collar of the suit, making for a comfortable suit when riding or racing. Due to the track focused nature of this suit, the RST V4.1 Evo Airbag Kangaroo suit is very aggressive in terms of its cut. Designed as a dedicated factory race suit, this suit is intended for the hardcore track day addict. While in an aggressive race style cut, the suit does features Scholler Keprotec stretch panels for ease of movement when changing position on the bike for a free range of movement when wrestling the bike around the track. These stretch panelling areas along with the cowhide leather accordion stretch panels make moving in the suit easier as well as getting the suit on and off, which is done with a central MAX zipper. The In&Motion In&Box is not supplied with the garment, it will be supplied directly to you within 72 hours once you register with In&Motion. Once registered, there is a monthly subscription of £12.00 per month or £120.00 per year if paid in advance. The subscription can be cancelled and re-activated whenever you like, but upon cancellation of your subscription, you will be required to send the In&Box back to In&Motion to complete the cancellation.
