TCX Infinity 3 Mid Motorcycle Boot (Black)
The Infinity 3 Mid version does not come with a Gore-Tex membrane, whereas the full-height boot does.
The Infinity 3 is, in essence, a touring and commuting boot that has been designed to look a little bit like an adventure or off-road boot. It is aimed at the adventure bike rider who probably never ventures off the beaten track.
In terms of the look and design, the short version shares much in common with its full length version. The chassis of the boot is a combination of leather of a synthetic material; something akin to Lorica. You get protectors in the toe, heel and anchor areas. The ‘heat shield’, as TCX call it wraps around he ankle and is secured by Velcro. You can use this to adjust the fit of the boot, but whilst the shield looks as though it is protective, in truth it probably adds little as far as safety is concerned.
The standout feature on the TCX Infinity 3 Mid, as indeed it is on the full-height version, is the BOA-style, wind-wire adjuster above the ankle. This allows a nearly infinite amount of adjustment, but the real benefit, in our view, is just how easy it is to use. You need just one hand; you can tighten or loosen the boot at will and in seconds. Inside the boot, you get an Ortholite footbed, and what TCX calls a Groundtrax outsole which is produced by TCX.
Now the full-height Infinity 3 boot is a boot with an adventure look. This is the kind of boot you could walk around in all day long. It’s going to be as comfortable as any short boot. Full-height boots tend not to be great for walking around in.
