I got the light smoke pinlock to put behind my CWR-1 Mirror Gold visor(which is a light smoke equivalent). The visor was too light by itself, but with the pinlock insert it is now a perfect, dark-smoke equivalent setup with the added bonus of being fog-proof.

Just the most incredible difference, I wish I had got a new visor and pinlock at least two years ago! Great service from the Visor Shop (again). The item fitted easily onto my visor, however, the cost of such a flimsy piece of plastic is horrendous (it's the same in the whole market place).

Always buy a Pinlock insert everytime I replace a visor. This one was easy to find on website and as it was an original Pinlock....it was a perfect fit on my Shoei visor.

Brilliant product - great service from the visorshop.
The pinlock was packaged extreme well - unfortunately the courier had absolutely hammered it during shipping creating a massive crease in the pinlock.
Nothing the visorshop guys could have done about this. I opened the pinlock hoping to salvage it - should have returned it unopened once I saw the packaging damage - live and learn.
Would have no issues in dealing with these guys again.

I purchased this for my new shoei helmet. Whilst I have happily used a light tint insert for many years without issue, I thought I'd try this.

I covered 6 hours riding in the recent sunny day we had and I had no issues with visibility or glare. The helmet camera did show the insert change tint according to sunlight but from a riders view you don't notice the colour change, just clear vision for the conditions.

Very happy with performance of this product and would recommend.

I was nervous because the Amber CWR-1 insert is not available in the US, but when it arrived it went into my Neotec helmet easily and does exactly the vision-sharpening effect I was hoping for.

Arrived in US w/in 5 days and works as promised. I don't need to wear sunglasses behind visor and when fully darkened I can easily read all instruments.

The tint doesn't get as dark as I'd hoped. But that's not really Pinlock's fault, as the Shoei visor blocks a lot of the UV that activates the tinting. Still better than nothing. The fog protection seems great so far.

I read the review I thought pertain to the visor I was buying. The reviews said that it got so dark you had to flip it up when going into a tunnel. The visor I ordered doesn’t get very dark at all. “Light smoke“I should do a better job of investigating my purchases. The visor shop was excellent and service and delivery time.

I've had pinlock inserts in my Shoei Qwest all the time, two different makes with no misting issues.

These sunlight reaction ones work well on the 'sun' side darkening quite quickly and (more importantly) lightening reasonably quickly as well - though not quick enough for going into a tunnel from bright sunshine - up goes the visor then.

The problem i had was misting within the pinlock. This was only releaved by lifting the pinlock edge a bit. I wondered weather this was just a 'first off' situation coming from the cold English weather to hot France? I've since removed the insert and cleaned both it and the visor. hopefully this will rectify the misting issue.

Purchased the CNS-1 in yellow. Yellow brightens my vision at night, but there are reflections from oncoming lights that can be distracting. It is very bright for daytime riding and sunglasses are a must. As far as fogging, it works well to minimize it.

I got the photochromatic version. It does not go dark enough to be used all by itself, but I also have a drop-down sun visor in my Neotec, so between the two of them the final result is perfect!
