The SHARK RACE-R Pro, new high end model made of carbon/aramid fibers, has been developed in the first place for our top level racers: Moto GP, WSBK, Moto 2…. We therefore had to ensure the essential criteria, giving the upmost importance to the global functionality and ergonomic: lightness, stability, comfort, precision, aerodynamics. Because the request from top racers is dual: safety and on the leading-edge technology. SHARK must protect in critical situations, and must also contribute to their riding performance. RACE-R Pro is our new high end composite fiber helmet. Totally designed through reverse engineering process, RACE-R Pro has been developed from technical data as close as possible from human head specifications. SHARK has therefore taken into account your own constraints before considering its own ones. From the very first track tests our riders have acknowledged its stability, even above 300 km/h, its comfort and the precision of the wide angle vision field and its optical distortion free shield.

Anatomy of the Race -R PRO
The type of weave and the orientation of the fibers are carefully chosen with their function within the mechanical constraints and forces which the components will be subjected to.
The carbon and aramid fiber allows to obtain an optimal lightness for driving. Weight from: 1250 g + / – 50 g
Composition of the outer shell: aramide and carbon fiber mix
Multi-element with "crumple zone".
8 shock absorbing elements with varying densities.
Double density chin bar: more impact resistance (cf. test point S)
Laminated and cyclonic air flow.
The more laminated on the helmet surface the better. Cyclonic airflows generate interference to your riding comfort and concentration. Thanks to wind tunnel testing, we have minimized these unpleasant cyclonix airflows on the Race R PRO by adding the double blade spoiler.
Result = Stability.
Ventilation efficiency of the Race R Pro
Still targeting the best functionality, the SHARK R&D department has shown great pragmatism for designing the ventilation system. Studying & selecting the best existing systems, we built up our own solution. The Race R PRO ventilation system is a synthesis of the most efficient ventilations:
4 air scoops: chin ( with integrated anti pollution air filter) + front + 2 top vents.
3 possible positions: closed, intermediate, fully open.
Optimization of venturi effect thanks to Formula1 wind tunnel testing.
Wind tunnel tests were made to study the flow of the air, the movement of air through the helmet and its effects on the build up of heat and thus on the cooling of the head.
3 possible filter positions :
closed(closed airflow) , filter (filtered airflow) or full open ( maximum airflow).
Shield and vision field
SHARK had already stunned when launching for the first time a 3mm shield on the RS2 model. Today, we go even further with the Race R PRO with a true revolution in terms of technology and use. :
The VZ100 shield that is fitted on the Race R PRO is « Class 1 rated ». This choice avoids visual fatigue during long trips when optical distortion occurs
Targeting « Class 1 » rating has challenged our engineers to choose audacious technology variable thickness:
4 mm verticaly in the middle section of the shield (first time ever on a motorcycle helmet).
3 mm horizontaly.
The riding advantage is obvious: no optical distorsion even at high speed, and precision at first glimpse, head down or quick backwards control when racing. This technical choose protects even more the rider against perforation & shocks on the shield. The VZ 100 is maintained by 4 anchor points ensuring maximum safety as the shield remains on the helmet during potential crashes. In case of accident with visor in open position, SHARK has designed pre-shaped screws that would break off.
