  Road Riders: How many times do you find yourself changing-up on the motorway - only to find you’re already in top gear, or try to change-down when stopping - only to find you’re already in first? Probably quite often… Track Riders: How often do you get asked ‘which gear do you take the fast left hander in?’ Probably quite often too… These are just two examples of when you’d liked to have known which gear you were in and there are many more too... The Digital Solution The Acumen DG8 digital gear indicator works by comparing the ratio of electronic pulses received by the speedometer and tachometer - the Gipro reads the signals direct from the OE gear position sensor. All units come with night time auto-dimming (light sensitivity can also be fine tuned on Gipro) ensuring the display is clear to see - but not too bright - at any time. They are compatible with all bikes that have an electronic speedometer (Gipro only currently available for Suzuki & Kawasaki models) - note that most analogue speedometers are driven electronically, not just those with an LCD display - this applies to almost all bikes on sale today (an electronic speedo pulse generator kit is also available to make the DG8 compatible with bikes that have a mechanical speedometer). These units are easy to fit to your motorcycle - DG8's have 6 wires to connect (it also has optional plug-in wiring harnesses for popular, late bikes making fitting even easier). The DG8 also requires a set-up routine to be followed to enable the gears to be programmed - this can be carried out whilst your bike is on it's centre stand or rear paddock stand. GIpro simply plugs in to the OE wiring loom and requires no programming - simply plug-in and it's ready to use!
